Vista 4500 is Barco’s latest family of multi-function consoles offering an ergonomic rugged working position for the most demanding sonar, Command and Control, systems control or situational awareness applications. The Vista 4500’s modular approach makes it ideal for integration into various Combat Information Center (CIC) applications on board surface ships or submarines.

Barco’s Vista 4500 consoles are fully network capable, so they successfully address the needs of modern CIC rooms, where reduced manpower and low cost of ownership are of utmost importance. Networked visualization makes it possible to visualize any real-time data anywhere in the CIC room and offers utmost flexibility, redundancy and survivability.

The Vista 4500 console includes Barco’s RDDS-2 radar solution as well as Barco’s networked video streaming and recording options.

Barco's Vista 4500 comes in two configurations:

Barco's Vista 4500 networked multi-function consoleVista 4500-E: multi-function console featuring advanced and expandable computing based on the PICMG1.3 computer form factor (PCIexpress and PCI extension slots). The Vista 4500-E console is highly cost-effective and fit for a full range of Command and Control applications.

Features

User-configurable consoles

Barco's Vista 4500 has a modular design, which enables you to build your console as you need and comply with all operational requirements and constraints.

Vista 4500 can draw from Barco's full product range of qualified rugged components, including rugged naval displays and a wide choice of input devices (track ball, keyboard, joysticks …). In addition, Vista 4500 supports the latest multi-core computing capabilities which allows operators to display and process information according to the latest performance standards.

Barco’s Vista 4500 consoles combine a configurable Base Unit and an ergonomic Human Machine Interface Unit. This fully modular, split-design offers optimal flexibility and allows easy customization according to the required functionalities and the operator’s interfacing needs.

For the HMI Unit, customers can select their preferred flat panel display from Barco’s full range of LCD displays (ranging from 19" to 30"). Operators are free to combine several screen sizes and can configure the operator desk display(s) for their applications.

Visualize and process wherever you want

Barco's Vista-4500 consoles are fully network capable allowing operators to view and process their radar , video and RGB images over the network.

The opportunities of networked visualization for CIC operations are numerous: greater accessibility to data and information throughout the vessel, and more flexibility to view and share your sources wherever there is a need.

Compact display technology

Vista 4500 can make use of Barco's full range of thin and lightweight displays, which have been developed to be extremely rugged, low weight, and reduced in dimension. Barco’s TL display series has been developed with a special eye to easy integration into racks and consoles.

Optional networked radar software

Barco's optional RDDS-2 software is a cost-effective radar visualization solution that allows you to access your radar sources over the network. RDDS-2 makes expensive radar scan conversion hardware redundant and therefore it reduces the system cost significantly.

Optional real-time video and recording solution

Barco's optional Networked Video Distribution platform is an advanced video streaming and display recording solution using uncompressed and/or H264 technologies. This solution offers low-latency video streaming and lossless quality over a 1Gbits and 10Gbits Ethernet network. In addition, it allows recording of any high-resolution display (up to 1920 x 1200 pixels) - either locally on the console or on a remote Network Video Server.
